Child DevelopmentWhat to Expect in Our Classrooms All classes, Head Start and Early Head Start, have a daily schedule which is posted for parent to see. The daily schedule becomes routine for children so they know what to expect and are secure with the classroom world. In all classes:
All classrooms have a Teacher, Assistant Teacher and Classroom Aide who also is the bus monitor. Rest Time In Full Day programs, rest time is important for children. A two hour rest time is scheduled every afternoon. After 15 to 30 minutes of rest time, if a child does not go to sleep, they are offered quiet activities until the rest time is over. Kids are allowed to bring favorite stuffed animal or small blanket that will help them to be more comfortable at rest time, we encourage parents to bring this to school. Field Trips Field trips are an important part of the classroom program. Parent will need to sign a permission form to be able to participate in each field trip. If we do not have signed permission form, your child will not be able to go on the field trip. Classrooms may also go on walking field trips. Parents in the program can help by suggesting possible field trips, planning trips to parent work sites, and going with the class on trips.
