Parent Engagement
Head Start is committed to supporting your family. One of the ways we will support you is through the Family Partnership Agreement. The Family Partnership Agreement is a tool that we will work on together that will help identify your family’s strengths and assist you in setting and working to achieve a goal. Staff will ask you to list all of the supportive people, agencies, and services that you already have in your life. You will also identify things that you want to look different or to strengthen. The last step is setting a goal for yourself and your family. Whether your dream is becoming a registered nurse or fire fighter or of finding a safe place for your family to live, writing your goal down and breaking it into smaller do-able steps can be an empowering experience. Head Start knows that it is just as important to have support in meeting your goals as a parent as it is to support your child’s goals. We will work with you to set and work toward at least one goal this school year. Family Services staff will support you through:
Counseling and Mental Health Services Mt. Hood Community College Head Start has counselors from Multnomah County and Morrison Child and Family Services who are available to children and families. If you have concerns about your child or family, you can call the office directly to speak with one of the counselors or ask your Family Worker or Family Support Specialist to refer you.
